Ben Carson Will Flood the Radio With This Rap to Appeal to Black Voters

The ad will begin to air in a city near you on Friday.

Don’t be surprised if on your morning commute to work tomorrow you hear Ben Carson over the airwaves. The Republican presidential candidate is beginning his outreach to Black voters with a 60-second rap ad that will air in eight radio markets.

But don’t worry, the former neurosurgeon isn’t spittin’ lines himself. Aspiring Mogul, who calls himself a Christian Republican rap enigma on his Twitter profile, offered up his skills for the track.

“If we want to get America back on track, we gotta vote Ben Carson / And matter of fact, go out and vote,” he rhymes.

The ad buy, which cost $150,000, will air in Miami, Atlanta, Houston, Detroit, Birmingham, Alabama, Jackson, Miss., Memphis, Tenn., and Little Rock, Ark. Carson lends his voice to the song with quotes from previous stump speeches.

"America became a great nation early on not because it was flooded with politicians but because it was flooded with people who understood the value of personal responsibility, hard work, innovation and that’s what will get us on the right track now,” Carson says. “I’m very hopeful that I'm not the only one that’s willing to pick up the baton to freedom because freedom is not free and we must fight for it every day. Every one of us must fight for us because we are fighting for our children and the next generation."

The Carson campaign hopes to secure 20 percent of the Black vote in the 2016 election.
