‘I Got Their Drip’: Florida Sheriff Wears Seized $50K Chain at Press Event

Judd showcased the jewelry taken from an accused drug kingpin, underscoring his message that the operation was a menace to society.

Polk County, Florida Sheriff Grady Judd used a press conference on Aug. 22 to showcase the results of a major drug bust—and he did so while wearing a gold chain and bracelet that had been confiscated.

The jewelry, valued at around $50,000, was seized from Nathaniel Donald, who authorities accused of running a large-scale drug operation. Judd repeatedly referred to the chain as his “drip” while addressing reporters about the investigation, dubbed Operation Capital City Crackdown. The multi-agency effort resulted in the arrests of 32 individuals, who together had a record of 554 felonies and 394 misdemeanors.

"I got their drip. I got their money. We got their guns. We got their dope," the sheriff said

He described those involved in the drug bust as having little regard for the justice system or public safety. “These people will never stop selling dope if they’re not locked up and people die," Judd explained.

According to the Sheriff, the arrests were linked to the sale and production of marijuana, fentanyl, crack cocaine, MDMA, oxycodone, hydrocodone, and ketamine.

“Where you see $50,000 in drip, where you see that not-so-dangerous drug of cannabis, you see guns and you see first-degree murder from overdose,” he said.. “I am over it. I am over it when people tell you that drugs are low-level and non-violent."

Authorities also recovered $150,000 worth of narcotics and several firearms. Chief Stephen Walker of the Bartow Police Department expressed gratitude to the sheriff’s office for helping address crime in the area.

“We know we have problems and we do what we can and sometimes they’re outside of our scope to take care of, so we rely on that assistance,” Walker said.
