Terry Crews Admits He's Been Hiding a Huge Addiction

It almost ruined his marriage.

Terry Crews has some skeletons in his closet. The actor and former NFL player recently opened up about his decades-long addiction to porn, and how it landed him in rehab. In a surprisingly honest Facebook video, he explained the whole ordeal, adding that it almost cost him his family and warning others to look out for signs that they may face similar demons.

In the video, titled "Dirty Little Secret," the former NFL linebacker said his bad habit came with some major consequences: "It really, really messed up my life in a lot of ways." His marriage was one of the factors that suffered the most. "My wife was literally like, 'I don't know you anymore. I'm out of here,'" he said.

Speaking to those who may share the same addiciton, he explained how to identify the problem and his reasoning to want to help others. "If day turns into night and you are still watching [porn], you probably got a problem," he said. " And that was me... Now it's become my battle to help other people who are going through the same thing."

He shared in the video that his porn fixation began at the age of 12.

"I had to change because I reazlied, 'Yo, this thing is a major, major problem,'" he said. "I literally had to go to rehab for it. The thing that I found, by not telling people, it becomes more powerful, but when you tell, and when you put it out there in the open... it loses [its] power."
