Nick Cannon Is Still Missing His 'Little Dude'

Cannon's 5-month-old son, Zen, passed away in December.

Nick Cannon is still mourning the loss of his 5-month-old son, Zen Scott Cannon.

Back in December, Cannon announced he and Alyssa Scott had lost their infant to high-grade glioma, a rare and aggressive form of cancer. Zen had been diagnosed at just two-months-old, and despite his doctors' best efforts, Zen's brain tumor continued to grow.

"We started asking, 'Is there a way to prevent this? If not, how long do we have?'" Cannon told PEOPLE late last year. "The conversations quickly turned to, 'How can we give him the best life for the time that he does have?' It could be weeks, it could be months, it could be years."

Zen passed away on December 5, 2021 with his parents by his side and they have vowed to remember their little light forever. Recently, Cannon posted a picture with several of his children — Monroe, Moroccan, Zillion, Zion, and Powerful Queen — and took a moment to remember Zen.

"Still missing my little dude," Cannon wrote on Instagram. "His Spirit and brightness were soo strong #ZensLight 'To be absent from the body, is to be present with the Lord.' 2 Corinthians 5:8 The whole family, We ALL miss you young King! Forever Our Angel!"

Scott, who also has another daughter, told PEOPLE last December that it was "a privilege being Zen's mommy."

"It's so beautiful and encouraging to see even complete strangers being touched and moved by Zen's light," she said. "Zen's spirit and light will shine bright forever."
