The news about Nick Cannon expecting baby #10 has made waves on the internet. Actress and television host Vivica A. Fox shared her personal thoughts about the
TV hosts' big announcement.
"I don't like it," the actress shared on a recent episode of “Cocktails with Queens,” The Two Can Play That Game star added, "Y'all can be like, 'It's cause he got money, this, that, and the third.' But the foundation of Black families, especially a strong father figure is needed. This isn't a good representation of it… in my opinion."
Although co-hosts Claudia Jordan, LisaRaye McCoy, and Syleena Johnson had varying perspectives, Jordan agreed with Fox’s concerns.
“Nick is a great guy, I think he’s successful, and we go in on people like Future—and not to say that he’s the same—but at the end of the day, he’s so busy. Nick Cannon has an empire. So do you have time for all of these kids?” Jordan questioned.
For Fox, the conversation around fatherhood isn’t solely about money. She went on to say, "It’s way more than money.”
In June, Cannon spoke up with Men’s Health about his parenting style. The Wild N Out creator explained, “Contrary to popular belief, I'm probably engaged throughout my children's day, more often than the average adult can be.”
He continued, "If I’m not physically in the same city with my kids, I’m talking to them before they go to school via FaceTime and stuff. And then when I am [in the same city, I’m] driving my kids to school, like making sure I pick ’em up. All of those things, making sure [I’m there for] all extracurricular activities. I’m involved in everything from coaching to having guitar lessons with my daughter every week.”
It’s quite the journey. Whether we agree or not, we pray that everyone remains healthy and supported with love.
