Loved Ones Demand Answers After Teen Found Dead in Singer D4vd’s Tesla
The family of Celeste Rivas Hernandez is sharing their grief publicly after the 15-year-old was identified as the girl whose body was discovered in the trunk of a Tesla reportedly registered to singer d4vd.
"As many of you know, Celeste Rivas Hernandez has been identified as the body found last week," GoFundMe organizers Esmeralda Lozano and Gisel Vera wrote on the campaign page. "She was a beloved daughter, sister, cousin, and friend."
The statement continued, "Her family is heartbroken and devastated by this tragic loss. They are seeking help to lay her body to rest. Any funds you are able to donate are greatly appreciated."
Their comments came one day after the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner formally identified Celeste’s remains. According to records, her date of death is listed as Sept. 8—the same day her body was discovered—but the cause of death is “deferred,” meaning it remains under investigation.
NBC News reports that the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office confirmed Celeste was the "juvenile who was reported missing from Lake Elsinore" last year. Her disappearance had left her family searching for answers for months.
Authorities told KABC-TV that the body was located in the Tesla’s front trunk and had been wrapped inside a bag. The vehicle is reportedly registered in Hempstead, Texas, to 20-year-old musician d4vd, whose real name is David Anthony Burke.
Celeste’s death has drawn national attention both because of her young age and the connection to the rising music star, as her family continues to seek support and justice.
