Cardi B Airs Frustration Over Property Ownership, Claims Tenants Haven't Paid Rent in 9 Months
In addition to her thriving music career, Cardi B. revealed that she and her husband, Offset have ventured into property management. However, the 31-year-old recently admitted that their journey into being landlords has become far from satisfying.
“We have tenants that haven’t even paid f—king rent for like 9 months,” the Bronx native shared during an Instagram Live session. “9 months! And sometimes, we be so busy and our house managers, they’ll be so busy that we like, you know what? Don’t even f—king take them to court’ because we just be so f—king tired. Like, we don’t even have time for that because we be doing so much s—t.”
Despite the potential for financial gain, Cardi emphasized that owning property is only sometimes as promising as it seems. ”People be like, ‘Oh, get property, get property, get property.’ Please, babe,” she continued. “Oh! Let’s not even talk about the Dominican Republic Airbnb that this n—ga bought me. Always something! Please! I don’t want properties as a gift,” she added, referencing the property Offset gift her a few years ago for her 29th birthday.
The “Money” rapper says the experience has forced her and the Migos co-founder to rethink their real estate approach and have considered buying instead of renting.
Cardi shared that the pair have been looking to buy a house either in the Los Angeles or Miami area; still, she says, “that’s no walk in the park either,” and it’s to the point she’d prefer a luxury bag over property, adding “Whether it’s home properties or investment properties. No, I love me a good f—king Birkin.”
