Vice President Vance Fumbles Ohio State’s Championship Trophy During White House Visit

The Ohio State grad had to be saved by RB TreVeyon Henderson.

Vice President JD Vance might need to work on his ball security.

While hosting the national champion Ohio State Buckeyes football team, the second-in-command (AND OHIO STATE GRAD) dropped part of the team’s College Football Playoff National Championship Trophy at the White House on Monday (April 14).

The moment, which quickly went viral, happened as Vance—again, an Ohio State alum himself—attempted to hoist the gold hardware during the ceremony's conclusion on the South Lawn. While President Trump posed with the team and the U.S. Marine Band played "We Are the Champions," the United States Vice President tried to reassemble a giant football trophy like it was a Legends of the Hidden Temple challenge.

As the pieces separated, Buckeyes star running back TreVeyon Henderson swooped in and grabbed the golden top half while the base clattered to the ground.
