Viola Davis On Why She Loves Her Husband Of Nearly 20 Years: ‘He Made My Life Easier’
Viola Davis is deeply in love with her husband Julius Tennon. While chatting with Harper’s Bazaar UK, the beautiful actress revealed how she knew she found the person she wanted to share her life's journey with.
“I knew that I love my husband because he made my life easier,” Davis shared before recalling an intimate conversation she shared with her husband of nearly 20 years. “When I said, ‘Julius, I want someone who’s emotionally available.’ He said, ‘Well, I'm emotionally available.’ I said, ‘I know, but I just want someone who's gonna fight with me. Just love me, even with all my faults. He said, ‘I love you with all your faults.’ That's when you know you're in love.”
Davis, who married Tennon in 2003 in a lovely at-home ceremony, went on to share how important it is to find someone who loves you unconditionally.
“When someone is willing to go through the mess, and someone who's willing to honor the boundaries, and someone who just thinks you're beautiful,” she expressed, highlighting what you should look for in a spouse.
She continued, “I definitely feel my most beautiful when I'm needed by my husband and my daughter. I love to be needed by them. I love when they love me. I think love is a good beauty tool.”
