Gabrielle Union Reveals More Clips Of Her Were Added To The Original Trailer That Didn’t Make The Movie

The footage was added after the test audience wanted to see more of the Clovers

Gabrielle Union is letting fans of ‘“Bring It On” in on some tea this weekend. The actress split together with a video on her TikTok account of clips from the original trailer of her character Isis and her Black co-stars of the East Compton Clover cheerleading squad that never made the movie.

She went on to reveal in the video that the reason why was because test audiences showed in their surveys that they wanted to see more of the Clovers team. So the execs and studio added filmed and added the clips to trick moviegoers into thinking that ladies had larger stories in the film.

“Storytime! So we shot these snippets that you see here after the movie wrapped,” Union told viewers in the video. “Because once test audiences saw the movie, they wanted more of the Clovers. So we shot these, only for the trailer, not for the movie, to make people think we were in the movie more than we were. The end.”

Union has admitted that she thought the movie's original script had “cringey” moments with her character and how she was based on negative stereotypes of Black women.

However, the actress has since moved her with her accomplished career, and the film has become a cult classic. She has since largely praised the movie and was happy that she could add her input that ultimately changed the character to the portrayal from the film.
