The Ultimate 'Sistas' Old School Playlist

Grab your boogie shoes, some AfroSheen, and a glass of Pink Champale. The Sistas are going to the disco!

With a circle of friends who love to get together for a good drink every now and then and have a tight bond, we wondered what would be the best playlist to define the "Sistas" characters and their storylines. Instead of going the new school Top 40 route, we tried to imagine a soundtrack for the newest season of “Sistas” that takes place during the height of 70s glam.

Karen: Sly and the Family Stone - "Family Affair"

Karen has a whole family growing in her belly, and it is made up of two different fathers, mind you.

Danni: Mass Production - Firecracker

Danni is a free spirit with no filter. Every friend group needs a firecracker who says the quiet part out loud!

Fatima: Diana Ross - "No One Gets the Prize"

Fatima might have Zac now, but what will happen when helping raise his child with Karen takes up all of his time?

Sabrina: Stephanie Mills - "You Can Get Over"

Sabrina is the most delicate of the group, but she has recently shown that she can stand on her own at work and in her personal life. This power anthem perfectly describes the sweetheart of the circle.

Gary: Donna Summer - "No More Tears (Enough is Enough)"

We could have easily gone with track 11 from Doja Cat's "Planet Her" album, but we'll stick to the old-school theme and dedicate this duet to the audience, who are all rooting for Gary's downfall

Andi: Chaka Khan - "I'm Every Woman"

What better anthem for the woman who wants to have it all? This one is for Andi.

Chaka Khan - I'm Every Woman (Official Music Video) [HD Remaster]

"Sistas" resumes season 7 on May 29.
