Jazmine Sullivan and Silk Sonic Both Score the 2022 Grammy for ‘Best R&B Performance’

Silk Sonic also took the Song of the Year award for “Leave the Door Open.”

And we have a tie! Both Jazmine Sullivan and Silk Sonic won the 2022 Grammy award for “Best R&B Performance” for their singles “Pick Up Your Feelings” and “Leave the Door Open,” respectively.

Sullivan scored her first-ever of two Grammy awards including “Best R&B Album” for Heaux Tales, she had previously received 15 nominations. The singer-songwriter scored three Grammy nominations tonight, including “Best R&B Performance”, “Best R&B Album” for Heaux Tales, and “Best R&B Song” for “Pick Up Your Feelings.”

Meanwhile, Silk Sonic, who opened the night’s ceremony with an energy-packed performance on their hit track “777,” also took home the win for “Song of the Year” for the “Leave the Door Open.” The R&B and soul duo were also nominated for “Record of the Year”.

The category includes several heavy hitters: Doja Cat’s “Kiss Me More” featuring SZA, Justin Biber for his single “Peaches” featuring Daniel Caesar and Giveon, Olivia Rodrigo for “drivers license,” Lil Nas X’s “Montero (Call Me By Your Name),” Billie Eilish for her track “Happier Than Ever,” and a slew of others.
