Solange Performed on 'Fallon’ and We Couldn’t Look Away
Following the raving reception of Solange’s phenomenal third studio album A Seat at the Table, it’s no wonder Jimmy Fallon invited her for a spot on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon stage to perform two of the project’s singles.
Mesmerizing the audience with her soft, silky vocals, Solo and her backup singers were gorgeously wrapped in lengthy, elegant red dresses gracefully linked to each other as they moved in sync to the “Rise” and “Weary” performances.
The stage presentation was evocative of her “Cranes in the Sky” video, which encompassed a range of picturesque shots and enthralling colors. The trio’s ensemble was designed by her mother, Tina Knowles, with inspiration from Japanese designer Issey Miyake. The stunning red stage was completed with a vignette backdrop and small band that provided the music for Solange and the singers.
Solange has a genius forte for “less is more,” as her Saturday Night Live performance on Nov. 5 displayed her knack for adorning a stage with a single color, an enticing band and beautiful fashion numbers.
