Tichina Arnold Spills the Tea On the One Time She Dated a White Man
Tichina Arnold is standing ten toes down on her love for Black men.
The actress recently stopped by Deon Cole’s “Funny Knowing You” podcast and shared a dating story that fans didn’t see coming. While chopping it up with Cole, she revealed that she once dated actor Brian Austin Green, making it her first—and only—experience dating a white man. According to Arnold, it wasn’t a bad situation at all, but it was enough to teach her exactly what she wants out of a relationship.
She described the relationship as “nice,” but said it felt different from what she was used to. As time went on, she started thinking long-term and realized their paths didn’t quite line up. In her mind, Green was always going to build his future with someone who looked like him, and once that clicked, she decided to remove herself.
“You’re gonna share your riches and your legacy with someone white,” Arnold recalled telling him. “And so I’m getting off this train.”
She made it clear there was no bitterness behind the decision. The NAACP Image Award winner emphasized that Green was kind and respectful, and that the relationship served its purpose in her life. For her, it was simply a moment of clarity. She said she needed that experience to confirm what already felt true for her, and once she got the lesson, she moved accordingly.
The conversation didn’t stop there. They also spoke openly about attraction and why Black men have always been her preference. She explained that it’s something she feels naturally and instinctively. “I really love Black men,” she said, pointing to chemistry, connection, and comfort as things she’s always been drawn to.
In her personal life, Arnold has been married twice: first to boxer Lamon Brewster and later to basketball coach Rico Hines. She also shares a daughter, Alijah Kai Haggins, with music producer Carvin Haggins. And if this podcast moment made anything clear, it’s that she knows exactly who and what she’s choosing now.
