Sha’Carri Richardson Speaks Out After Alleged Assault Arrest
Sha’Carri Richardson is speaking out for the first time after her arrest for allegedly assaulting her boyfriend, Christian Coleman.
The arrest took place on Sunday (July 27th) in Des Moines, Washington, at 6:54 p.m, BET.com reported. She was released the following Monday at 1:13PM.
According to the TSA, the report indicates that Richardson appeared to hurl an object, possibly a pair of headphones, at Coleman.
Coleman supported Richardson during her match on Sunday (August 3rd), in an attempt to put things behind them, claiming he felt it was a “sucky” situation and didn’t believe she should’ve been arrested.
TMZ obtained a video of the incident, where you can see the 25-year-old repeatedly assaulting Coleman and circling around in the airport.
Richarson has spoken out, making a video addressing her actions.
“Definitely a lot of self reflection and also, understanding not only putting myself in a compromising situation but also somebody I have a deep care and appreciation for as well,” she began in the video, before proceeding to say she’s holding herself accountable.
“I see myself and taking the time to get myself a certain level of help that overall, is going to reflect who I truly am in my heart and my spirit. Accepting this moment to be more……not only for myself, but for my family and fans. I overly appreciate you all supporting me and showing up, but also holding me accountable to being my best self. I refuse to run away, but face everything that comes to me head on because everything on the other side is greater.”
