Straight Outta Compton Set Hit By Real Drive-By Shooting

Life imitates art during NWA biopic production.

The NWA biopic fell into the crosshairs of real-life gang warfare last week, reports TMZ, when gunfire erupted right outside the Compton Courthouse during filming. According to eyewitnesses, some local gang members flashed gang signs at a passing car, causing the melee. One civilian was hit by gunfire, though there were no fatalities and nobody from the shooting crew was hit.
LAPD is investigating the incident, but have not yet determined if it was indeed gang related. Despite the brush with danger, the movie will continue filming in Compton this week. Cast and crew are said to be shook up, but still willing to show up for work. Nobody from the production, including producers Ice Cube and Will Packer or director F. Gary Gray, have commented on the incident.
Hopefully that's the closest life will come to imitating art during production of the film.
