Cardi B Wants To Be Divorced While Offset Wants A Million Dollars

The ‘Man Of Your Word’ rapper claims that Offset is delaying the divorce and holding her hostage.

Cardi B is ready to finalize her divorce from Offset, the father of her three children, but it seems the ‘Different Species’ rapper is holding up the process by demanding millions, property, and for Cardi to pay his taxes.

Cardi recently took to Twitter Spaces to rant about her strained relationship and offer some context to the folks who have been relentlessly judging her for dating and getting pregnant while still married to Offset.

She said, “Let me tell you something, I did things the correct way the first time. I fell in love. I got two rings on my finger. I lasted seven years. … Stop saying, ‘Oh, but you’re still married.’ No, I’m legally separated.”

And if it were up to her, she’d be divorced by now. She filed for divorce in July 2024, and the process has been a drag because Offset is giving “I’m leaving here with something!”

She told Twitter Spaces, “The only reason why I’m still married is because somebody wants me to pay for their taxes,” she claimed. “Y’all wanna know the tea? The only way I can get out of my marriage is if I pay for somebody else’s taxes, even though I pay for my own, and give them one of my properties. I’m fighting for that, I’m gonna fight for that. This is not no love s***.”

Cardi doesn’t play about what’s hers. She is refusing to let Offset bully her into giving up what she’s worked hard for, but she also wants to move on.

She continued, “I’m not gonna live my life because on a contract I’m practically still married, because somebody wanna hold me hostage if I don’t give them millions of dollars to get out of it. So, that’s what I’m going through in life. … Y’all want me to remarry and stuff to have another baby and stuff like that. I’m doing things [that] make me happy.”

Both rappers have used their most recent music to vent about their failed relationship. On Cardi’s new album, “Am I The Drama,” the song “Man Of Your Word,” she opened up about her disappointment in Offset, saying, “Last time you f***ed up, said I was done / F***ed up again, I took you back, s***, I was dumb / I held back for you, was really biting my tongue / Should’ve fell back from you, instead, I gave you a son.”

And Offset did the same on his song, “Move On,” rapping, “Happy for you, why you ain't happy for me? / I take the blame, okay (okay) / I take the shame, okay (okay) / Not playin' your games today (okay) / We look like some fools (we look like some fools) / You got your get back, so I had to get back…” He told the Associated Press that he’s all about moving on peacefully. Hmm, let’s see if Offset can be a man of his word.
