Over the weekend, Jodie Foster's latest film, "The Brave One" became the number one film in the country. In the film, Foster plays a woman whose fiance is killed and she is savagely beaten. She then buys a gun and proceeds to walk the steets late at night killing anyone who disrespects her in the least bit.\r

What the Flick?\r
Why is fear never used as an excuse when Black characters are involved? Hollywood makes vigilate characters noble when White characters are involved. When movies are made with Black characters in guns, it's either gang/hood related or military films. In the hood films, Blacks are usually killing each other while we're killing a "foreign" enemy in war films.\r
The message in Hollywood is that fear has no color -- unless its anything other than White because they don't want to see Black characters with a gun!
