Dua Lipa Brings Out Chaka Khan for a Show-Stopping Chicago Performance
Chaka Khan is being introduced to a new audience, thanks to Dua Lipa.
Lipa is currently on her Radical Optimism World Tour, and during her Chicago stop on Friday (September 5), the “New Rules” singer surprised fans by bringing out the Queen of Funk.
Khan performed her hit, “Ain’t Nobody,” with the 30-year-old star from England and rocked the crowd in a bedazzled sequin top with leather pants.
This isn’t the only standout moment for the living legend this year. Khan also served as a flower girl for her granddaughter’s wedding in July, BET.com reported.
The “I’m Every Woman” icon shared on Instagram that she stepped into the role of honorary flower girl at her granddaughter’s wedding, calling it “a beautiful family moment worth celebrating.”
Her granddaughter, Daija Jade, tied the knot with the legendary singer right by her side, soaking in the joy, love, and magic of the day.
In the photos, the “Through The Fire” singer is seen walking gracefully in a chic white dress while holding hands with a young child who appears to be the ring bearer. Another sweet candid shows the Grammy Award-winner beaming alongside Jade and her new husband, all smiles as they mark this unforgettable milestone.
She was awarded shared guardianship of Daija with her sister, Tammy McCarthy, after she had petitioned to receive full custody of her granddaughter, citing she "assumed on a day-to-day basis the role of the child's parent fulfilling both the child's physical and psychological needs for care and affection,” according to TMZ.
