Justin Bieber at Center of Self-Mutilation Prank

Disturbing #cut4bieber hashtag encourages teens to harm themselves.

Justin Bieber's new-found love for marijuana is tearing up the twittersphere. In response to leaked photos of the 18-year-old pop star smoking pot, some on the micro-blogging platform have started a running, disturbing joke about self-mutilation.

"#cut4bieber" was the number one trending hash tag in the U.S. last night, as purported Bieber fans wrote posts about and shared photos depicting self-inflicted cuts to their arms and wrists designed to pressure the singer into abandoning his smoking habit. While some of the photos appeared to be real, most people tweeted only mockingly.

Bieber himself never responded to the trend, but denouncing the hashtag publicly was another young pop sensation.
"'#cut4bieber? Cutting is NOT something to joke about," tweeted Miley Cyrus. "There are people who are actually suffering from self-harm, this is so disrespectful."

One person who isn't mad at the Biebs for toking up is fellow marijuana-appreciator Game. Stopped by TMZ yesterday, the L.A. rapper had some words of encouragement and advice for Bieber.

"I know that America's trying to keep him clean as far weed and all that, and I understand that...but let's keep it real: There are a lot of people in high positions — doctors, politicians, teachers [etc.] — that smoke a little weed now and then," Game said. "He made a mistake. Let him go through the growing pains of his life."
Game did have one word of caution for Bieber: Next time, make sure you have a medicinal marijuana prescription card.
