A Family Affair: Courtney B. Vance Honored in Walk of Fame Ceremony

The iconic actor was joined by his equally iconic wife, Angela Bassett, and their twins, who stole the show!

Courtney B. Vance just got his well-deserved spot on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and it was a teary-eyed family affair.

The 65-year-old Emmy winner unveiled the 2,831st star on December 16 at 7007 Hollywood Boulevard—right across from wife Angela Bassett's star from 2008.

Picture this: Bassett beaming with pride, calling out her hubby’s artistry, integrity, and generosity, while their 19-year-old twins, Slater and Bronwyn, towered over their Hollywood royalty parents. Though it was the duo’s heartfelt speeches that stole the show.

Slater dubbed his dad "the most altruistic public servant," sharing a deep convo about being "like water"—adaptable yet solid—and how it's finally time for the giver to receive.

"Empathy and taking care of people are one thing, but consistently bearing witness to others' existences is entirely another. I've never seen someone cherish people like my father, expecting and wanting no award," he said. "This man goes out of his way to make sure that people around him are at ease, helping in any way conducive to that goal."

Bronwyn got real about childhood memories, like dad waking her with back rubs, singing away nightmares, and filling the house with fresh flowers weekly to show love for mom.

"The world knows him as an award-winning actor on stage and screen, but today I want to share how he's been an award-winning father at home," she said. She then gave a glimpse into Vance’s heartwarming parenting style, as well as the kind of husband he is to her mother.

"I also watched my dad love my mom with intention. Before we moved houses every Saturday morning, he'd go to the farmer's market and make sure there were fresh flowers in every room of our own home," she said, according to People. "He once told me that he learned being a husband meant serving my mom. That once she was happy, everything else fell into place."

Vance, known for Emmys in “The People v. O.J. Simpson” and “Lovecraft Country,” plus a Tony for “Lucky Guy,” kept it humble, focusing on family over fame. Celebs like Niecy Nash-Betts and Jurnee Smollett cheered on.
