Look: NBA and WNBA Join Forces and Show 'Pride' to Make History

Check out their historic moment Sunday.

The NBA and WNBA can take "pride" in knowing that they created history.

On Sunday, they became the first leagues in professional sports history to march in and hold court on a float in the New York City Pride Parade, celebrating with the 2.5 million people who flooded the celebration route.

NBA commissioner Adam Silver was joined by his deputy commissioner, Mark Tatum, and WNBA president Lisa Borders as they were accompanied by several employees from both leagues.

They were also joined on the NBA/WNBA float and alongside the parade route by Jason Collins, who created history of his own in April 2013 when he became the first active player in any of the four major American sports leagues to come out as gay.

Silver and Tatum donned "#OrlandoUnited" T-shirts honoring the victims of the June 12 mass shooting.

Take a look at their photos from the parade.

Before the parade could even get underway Sunday, NBA superstar Kevin Durant expressed how proud he was of both leagues for creating history.

Salute to both the NBA and WNBA.
