This year's VH1 Hip Hop Honors were focused all on the women of the culture. Missy Elliott, Queen Latifah and Salt-N-Pepa were all honored at Monday’s (July 11) ceremony, and when Diddy showed up, you knew who he was there to rep for.

The rap mogul, who made a surprise appearance onstage during the honors, gave a little tribute to his favorite rap female.

"I flew in here tonight to honor my sister, Lil' Kim," he said. "The way you walk, the way you talk. You always pushed the envelope. There's only one Queen Bee." He then continued with the praise, "As soon as I heard her rhyme, it was something I had never seen or heard before. I knew she was going to be a superstar."

This had Kim choking up as she responded with praise to her friend. "He told me that he had something to do and wasn't going to be able to make it!" she said.

While the whole thing was really sweet, the BeyHive wasn’t here for the “only one Queen Bee” comment. They went after Diddy on Twitter and Instagram. “Congrats Queen B! Trendsetter!” said radio host DJ Dimepiece. “Diddy's comment had the beehive swarming his comments.” The Shade Room also captured some of Diddy’s comment section on Instagram after making the statement, and of course it was in shambles as well.
