Celeste Rivas Reported Missing 3 Times in 2024 Before Her Body Was Found in d4vd’s Car

LA police seized electronics from a home tied to the singer while the case remains under investigation; no cause of death yet released.

Authorities are probing the death of 15-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez, whose remains were found Sept. 8 in the front trunk of a Tesla registered to singer David Anthony Burke (professionally d4vd). Her body was identified by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner, but the cause of her death is still under investigation.

According to a new report from the Los Angeles Times, the sheriff's office said Rivas had been reported missing at least three times in 2024 out of Lake Elsinore, CA in January, March, and again in September, days before her body was found. Lake Elsinore residents claimed she had run away from home before. Her last known whereabouts remain unclear.

Law enforcement executed a search warrant Sept. 17 at a Hollywood Hills residence linked to d4vd, where they seized electronics and computers. d4vd has not been named a suspect or charged, but his representatives say he is fully cooperating with authorities.

In response to the case, d4vd canceled his remaining U.S. tour dates.Community members in Lake Elsinore have held vigils, calling for justice and remembrance of Rivas as a “beloved daughter, sister, cousin, and friend.”

Rivas’ body was released to her family on Sept. 23 for memorial services, with her funeral scheduled for early October.Meanwhile, investigators are following several leads as the case remains open.
