A$AP Rocky Says His Grandmother ‘Loves’ Rihanna
It’s all love between Rihanna and the grandmother of her longtime partner, A$AP Rocky.
The Harlem rapper, who will co-chair the 2025 Met Gala next month, is among the new Vogue cover stars for the publication’s May issue. In Rocky’s accompanying profile, his paternal grandmother, Cathy, shared her thoughts on Rihanna, who shares two sons, RZA, 2, and 19-month-old Riot Rose, with the “Tailor Swif” artist.
Rocky called himself a “grandma’s boy kind of kid” and that Cathy was his “best friend” growing up. His grandmother told Vogue that she always thought Rocky was “going somewhere” in life, but is especially glad that he’s in a relationship with the 9-time Grammy winner.
“I’m glad that he settled down, and I’m happy with who he settled down with,” Cathy said about Rihanna. “She’s a down-to-earth person.”
“She loves her some Rih Rih,” Rocky added.
The artist and entrepreneur has been supportive of Rocky throughout his career and more recently, his gun assault trial, which ended in February with the rapper being found not guilty of shooting his childhood friend, Terrell Ephron, formerly A$AP Relli.
In the February issue of Harper’s Bazaar, Rihanna said that the “greatest thing” about Rocky “is seeing him be a dad” to their sons.
“I’m annoyed because my sons sometimes just live for him more than they live for me,” she continued. “And I’m like, ‘Did you know who cooked you? Do you know who pushed you out?’ And they love him, but when I see it, oh, it’s the best.”
