Possible Ricin-Laced Letter Sent to Obama
The Secret Service has intercepted a letter addressed to President Obama suspected to be laced with ricin. Postmarked Shreveport, Louisiana, it is similar to one received by New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg and Mayors Against Illegal Guns that contained ricin and an anti-gun-control message.
The "suspicious letter" was intercepted at the facility used to screen mail sent to the White House and has been turned over to the FBI Joint Terrorism Task Force for testing and further investigation.
Letters containing the poisonous substance were sent to Obama and three U.S. senators in April.
