Two Major Celebs Are Calling for Chris Rock to Quit the Oscars

Should this year's host bail amid the controversy?

Several celebrities have gone public with their disgust for the lack of diversity in this year's Oscar nominees list. After Jada Pinkett-Smith recently made her opinion known over the weekend, Tyrese and 50 Cent have now joined the growing list, being the latest to come forward, refusing to hold their tongues.

Tyrese took to Instagram on Monday to air out his feelings on the whitewashed list, using a disclaimer in the form of the hashtag #AggressiveRant. He even specifically called out Chris Rock, who is scheduled to host this year's show.

"#OscarsSoWhite..??? Mainstream Radio?? only playing white artist when THEY sing R&B Soul???? This is modern day racism..I fear NO MAN.. I fear NO SYSTEM," he wrote. "I don't seek your validation and I don't need your approval.. But I won't sit down and sit ON my hands and just let this ALL go down without speaking On it... Is Chris Rock still gonna host the oscars after this blatant racism?? Is everyone still gonna show up??"

50 Cent followed suit today in an IG post of his own, directly urging Rock to back out of his hosting duties:

With so many key figures in Black Hollywood coming forward amid the #OscarsSoWhite controversy, do you think Rock should bow out from hosting the show?
