Kanye West Speaks at Oxford University

Ye goes back to college to talk fashion, family, classism.

Kanye West lectured students at Oxford University Museum of Natural History in London today (March 2), Complex reports. West was photographed leaving his hotel this morning en route to Oxford.

It is unclear if West was called to the prestigious university to tackle a particular subject, but chances are that when the event is released (the lecture will also be posted online), the outspoken MC won’t disappoint.

Based on the live-tweets from a site for Oxford students called The Tab, fashion, family, and classism were among the topics 'Ye spoke on. He also talked about being "exiled" from his own county only to return with the My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy album (“Chris Rock & everyone else at every single media publication called My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy the best album of the last 25 years,” he reportedly said), and being out-shined by Nicki Minaj on “Monster.”

He also talked about dropping his ego. “If I, Kanye West, can remove my ego, I think there’s hope for everyone."

Locking West down wasn’t so easy, according to Abbas Kazmi, chairman of the Oxford Guild. “We are very excited to be hosting such an inspiring and high profile a speaker as the legendary Kanye West and expect it to be a fascinating and memorable event,” said Kazmi in a statement.

“It is great to see the hard work pay off after having spent many hours negotiating against the odds and keeping things under wraps to secure this event, which is a real coup for the Guild, which I am proud to see continuing to grow from strength to strength, reaching even higher heights and winning ever more national awards and accolades.”

West has been in the U.K. for several days and his time there has been pretty eventful. Besides debuting "All Day" –– the latest cut from the upcoming So Help Me God  LP –– during the Brit Awards last week, the 37-year-old got a tattoo in honor of his mother and daughter, and made his return to the Radio 1's Zane Lowe Show
