Ludacris Wows LL Cool J With Unreleased Version Of ‘Fatty Girl’ Produced By Pharrell

“I forgot about that joint,” LL confessed.

LL Cool J was blown away after Ludacris shared some throwback, never-before-heard bars from the rap icon on an unreleased version of “Fatty Girl,” his 2001 collaboration with LL and Keith Murray, that was produced by Pharrell Williams.

  • LL said the record had slipped his mind until Luda reminded him about it during a recent Instagram Live session between the two on Sunday (May 17). Luda played a snippet of the track up for him, and he was beyond impressed. “Yo, that’s great. You got to send me that. I forgot about that joint,” he told Luda as soon as the track finished.

“What just happened? Do you remember those two verses?” Luda wondered. LL confessed that he doesn't remember recording those bars because “it's been so long.”

  • A Trackmasters-produced version of “Fatty Girl” appeared on The Goodlife, a 2003 compilation album between clothing brand FUBU and Universal Records. According to Luda, the original version with Pharell  was never released because of an uncleared Fat Albert sample.

“If anyone ever asks me about some of the BEST MOMENTS in my career PLEASE ADD THIS TO THE LIST!” Luda captioned the video of their exchange on Instagram. [LL Cool J] had 2 original verses that he left on the cutting room floor that he COMPLETELY FORGOT ABOUT! Who else gets one of their idols to smile like this? Man, my life is complete.”
