SMH: Boosie Reveals Why He Declined Jay-Z’s Meeting For Him To Apologize About Zaya Wade Remarks

“Hey, tell Jay-Z I don’t wanna talk... I don’t give a f**k if Jesus call and tell me to apologize.”

Even after swarms of backlash, it appears Boosie doesn’t feel he owes Dwyane Wade an apology over his transphobic remarks directed toward Wade’s transgender daughter, Zaya

  • To refresh your memory, the Baton Rouge rapper found himself embroiled in controversy after he spurred off on a virulent tirade on social media ranting about the retired NBA superstar’s decision to let Zaya identify as a transgender girl.

On Monday (April 13), Boosie appeared on Power 105.1’s The Breakfast Club to discuss what endeavors he’s been up to amid the coronavirus pandemic. He then revealed that some of his projects  are at a standstill after sponsors pulled their funding over the controversy. “You know how that goes,” Boosie uttered, before reiterating that he has nothing against the LGBT+ community. “Let me make this clear,” he stressed. “I have nothing against no gay people. I got gay people in my family. My tour manager gay. They flipped it on me. You know what they do to my words.” DJ Envy wondered if the 37-year-old had any regrets over the fiasco. Although he admitted ‘it’s kind of f***ing with” his money,” Boosie stood by his words.

  • When Charlamagne Tha God asked Boosie if he ever felt the need to apologize for his comments, Boosie replied “Nah.”

“They already tried to do that,” he added. “They were trying to hook up [a] meeting with Jay-Z. They say Jay-Z was gonna get [Wade] on the phone and all that s**t…[telling me] ‘I need to apologize and save this, and save that that I got coming up,’” Boosie claimed. However, Boosie was not budging from his stance, stating, “Tell Jay-Z I don’t wanna talk.”

He continued, “I’m not apologizing for s**t. I don’t give a f**k if Jesus call and tell me to apologize. I said what I said, man. I felt that was right…I don’t want to talk. I don’t want to apologize. I’m standing on that.”

  • However, Boosie did come away from the controversy with one realization. He vowed that he plans to stay out of other folks' business and mind his own.
