    She co-founded 90s R&B girl group Brownstone in the early 1990s alongside Monica “Mimi” Doby and Charmayne Maxwell. Together, the trio rose to fame in 1994 with their hit single “If You Love Me,” which ultimately earned them a Grammy nomination for “Best R&B Performance.” 

  • She signed to a musical icon

    Gilbert and her sisters formed their group, eventually earning a record deal with the late King of Pop, Michael Jackson.  Under MJJ Music record, the ladies released their debut album, “From the Bottom Up.”

  • She’s an actress

    Gilbert appeared in notable projects in the 1998 cult classic “Woo” starring Jada Pinkett-Smith. She also appeared in movies like “Meet the Browns” and shows like “Martin.”

  • She’s dabbled in reality television

    Outside of being a member of Brownstone, Nicci also appeared in the TV series “R&B Divas” and “From the Bottom Up.”
