Doechii Shuts Down Glastonbury With Freestyles, Homages, and Viral Moments
Doechii continues to solidify her place among today’s greatest artists, officially joining the ranks of music legends with her debut on the Glastonbury stage.
This past weekend, the Grammy-award winner had a 45-minute set and has now one of the most talked about performances of the evening.
The artist delivered a standout performance for her record, “Nissan Altima,” opening the set with lyrics from Jay-Z’s record “Can I Live” before being introduced to the crowd.
While spitting her lyrics to the U.K crowd, the 26-year-old paid homage to the greats before her, including Trina’s “Pull Over” and Missy Elliott’s “She’s A B*tch.”
She continued in her set to pay homage to the legends before her, spitting a freestyle to Beyoncé’s “America Has a Problem.”
“Rich b*tch on a rich ni**a hit list/if this b*tch get slick, she’ll get hit/ ho*s washed up, dishes/busted, found these h*es wig missing,” she recited during the set.
Also, the Miami native referenced her viral Met Gala incident, which included the superstar demanding her team to retrieve umbrellas for her before revealing her look that evening.
She joked about the incident, throwing her hands up in a TikTok video with the words over the clip saying “God forbid a girl needs more umbrellas.”
