Misty Copeland Releases 'Ballerina Body' Book

She finally tells us what to eat and do to look like her.

Do you want to know what it takes to have the bod of a ballerina? Misty Copeland has the scoop for you in her new book, Ballerina Body: Dancing and Eating Your Way to a Leaner, Stronger, and More Graceful You, out now via Grand Central Publishing.

The book hosts a compilation of meal plans, workout routines and photos of the history-making ballerina.

Copeland's journey to becoming the American Ballet Theatre's first Black principal dancer was not without obstacles. “I went through such a rough time when I was just starting out as a professional [dancer] and my body was changing — and so much focus is on our bodies as dancers. I definitely went through a time, where [I thought], ‘How do I adjust? And how do I accept and love my body?’” Copeland said. “There’s nothing you can do except for try and be your healthiest and best self.”

And with recipes focused on clean-eating in this new book, Copeland is encouraging readers to be their healthiest and best selves, too.
