Ray J was looking to avoid tragedy on Wednesday when he called 911 after his girlfriend, Princess, threatened to kill herself. The R&B singer broke things off with Princess on Tuesday evening, TMZ reports, and when he stopped responding to her text messages she said she would take her own life.
The singer took the threat very seriously knowing there was a gun in the house, and also because the recent murder-suicide of his friend Earl Hayes and his wife, Stephanie Moseley, put him on "high alert" for mental instability.
LAPD reportedly went to Princess's home to check on her, but she wasn't there. Ray J says he then spoke with his ex and she insisted she would not go through with the threat.
