Tory Lanez’s Attorneys Are Seeking Probation For The Rapper, Drug Treatment
Tory Lanez’s legal team is suggesting that their client be released on probation and enter a substance abuse program as punishment for shooting Megan Thee Stallion in July 2020.
On Wednesday (August 2), journalist Meghann Cuniff reported that the Toronto rapper’s attorneys filed a sentencing memo in Los Angeles Superior Court before his sentencing next week, requesting their client be freed.

"I have Tory Lanez's sentencing memo for shooting Megan Thee Stallion," Cuniff tweeted Wednesday. "It asks that he be released from jail to probation and a substance abuse program."
Contrarily to Lanez’s attorneys, prosecutors are seeking a 13-year prison sentence for the shooting. He’s facing up to 22 years in prison after being convicted last December of one felony count of assault with a semiautomatic firearm, carrying a loaded, unregistered firearm in a vehicle, and discharging a firearm in a grossly negligent manner to cause bodily injury in connection with the July 2020 shooting.
Lanez has maintained his innocence, even after being convicted. He’s also unsuccessfully appealed the verdict since his conviction.
