Suge Knight's Lawyer Jumps Ship
Veteran attorney Thomas Mesereau walked from Suge Knight’s murder case today after an unconfirmed disagreement with the former rap mogul, TMZ reports. Mesereau has been replaced by Stephen L. Schwartz, the fifth lawyer to lead the case.
Knight, 50, is awaiting trial for murder. He appeared in court today alongside Mesereau. Court proceedings were closed off not long after Knight entered the room.
Mesereau didn’t comment on his departure. According to TMZ, Knight got upset over a leak of confidential information.
Knight was arrested last year for running over and killing Terry Carter, 55, in the parking lot of a Compton burger joint. He has pleaded not guilty to the charges.
