Martin Lawrence stars as Malcolm Turner, an FBI agent who disguises himself as Hattie Mae Pierce, the long-lost grandmother of Sherry Pierce (played by Nia Long) and her son Trent Pierce (played by Jascha Washington), in order to protect them from Trent's dangerous dad, Lester Vesco (played by Terrence Howard).
Malcolm soon finds that while occupying the life of Hattie Mae, affectionately known as "Big Momma," his undercover facade becomes real life.
