After suffering a concussion in the Eagles' 35-31 loss against the Atlanta Falcons last week, there was uncertainty about whether Eagles quarterback Michael Vick would play out the rest of the season in full health.

According to Vick himself, the reality is crystal clear.

"There's no reason to think that I won't play on Sunday," Vick told the Associated Press. "I've had two good days of practice. I'm optimistic I'll be able to go out there and very excited to play."

Vick went down with a concussion in the third quarter of last Sunday’s game in Atlanta. He was replaced by second-year pro Mike Kafka.

Vick was cleared for practice Thursday morning by an independent, NFL-appointed neurosurgeon to resume all football-related activities, under terms of the NFL’s 2009 concussion policy.  Vick had his second consecutive practice on Friday.

Eagles coach Andy Reid shared Vick’s optimism that the Q.B. will start on Sunday’s game against the Giants. "If he's OK on game day," Reid told the AP, "then he plays on game day."

Officially, the Eagles list Vick as "questionable" for the home opener on Sunday.
