Watch: Issa Rae Reacts to Being Snubbed by the Emmys

The actress had a very human response.

Fans of Issa Rae's smash hit HBO series Insecure were disappointed to learn that neither the highly celebrated show's first season nor any of its stars were included in the list of nominees for the 2017 Emmy Awards.

Now, with some time passing since the noms were announced, Rae is speaking out about the snub and she makes one thing certain: she's definitely not defeated.

Speaking with Andy Cohen during a taping of Watch What Happens Live, the jane of all trades said while she was initially bummed out, she sees this moment as an opportunity to show out for the show's upcoming second season.

"It would have been great for the exposure of the show but I was over it after a minute," she said. "We really stand behind this second season. We're so excited about it and, you know, it just motivates us to work harder next year to get noticed."

Take a look at the segment below:

The first episode of Insecure's second season premieres on Sunday, July 23 on HBO.
