The nominees for the 2017 Primetime Emmy Awards were announced this morning and while the once repeated issue of a lack of diversity didn't seem to take precedence this year, many TV fans were disappointed to learn that one particular Black actress and her hit show were left out of the running.

It came as a huge shock to many when neither Issa Rae nor her smash HBO series Insecure were recognized in the categories for Lead Actress in a Comedy Series and Outstanding Comedy Series, respectively.
