Jackie Christie on Basketball Wives And New Talk Show

She also lets us know which Basketball Wives alumni she would like to see back.

"Basketball Wives: LA" has returned for its eleventh season, and within just a few episodes, the women are already asserting their positions, forming alliances, and causing divisions. One particular veteran, who appears to be taking a back seat for now, is none other than Jackie Christie, a longstanding member of the series since its inception. Jackie, married to the retired basketball star Doug Christie, is known for her no-nonsense attitude and proudly embraces her role as a basketball wife.

Throughout the season, Jackie remains committed to keeping the other women in check while stirring up the drama in her characteristic fashion. With fresh faces taking the spotlight and returning cast members like Jennifer Williams, Brooke Bailey, and Evelyn Lozada rejoining the mix, this season is shaping up to be a compelling one. Naturally, viewers crave all the juicy details, so BET.com had the opportunity to chat with Jackie Christie about the season, the newcomers' impact, and even a deleted scene that gets pretty intense involving Brittany Renner.

BET.com: As an OG on this new season, what’s your opinion on the Vets and on the new girls?

Jackie Christie: So my opinion on the vets this season and the new girls is I’m loving it as we enter Season 11, but I’m nervous because the fans are sharing the season isn’t giving, and they want me in the mix. There’s a lot more exciting stuff to come. I think Brittany is on fire, has a bright future in television, and her story is phenomenal. There are a few things Brittany and I are going to do during the season that I want people to watch out for as they’ll see a different side of her. I do like Clayanna despite her falling out with a lot of people but I’ll let the audience see how that plays out. As for me and Vanessa, we’re good. While she may be a bit difficult with the ladies, she has a valid point in what she’s saying. I know how passionate she is and how she loves her friends. Jennifer and I are in a good space – despite the lies she was saying at the reunion, she’s taking accountability for her actions despite it not being shown on the show, but I know in my heart, so we’re good.

BET.com: Brittney Renner and Brooke are at odds now after things get a little intense at the Ice skating rink, also with Clayanna and Jennifer. How will the audience see these dynamics unfold between these two sets of friends and does Jackie end up choosing a side?

Christie: That’s a great question Ty –I won’t be picking sides as I don’t pick sides. I will say Brittany wasn’t pissy drunk and I don’t want to do that to Brittany. One thing I’ve learned is character assassination is not good or legal. All of us had a little bit of something to drink. I feel like it escalated between them very quickly but people will see how they work it out and if they even do. A lot more happened, but I wish audiences saw how bad it got.

BET.com: You brought Vanessa in and it seems that she kinda gets into it early with Evelyn and it foreshadows possibly other ladies. Are you happy you brought her in, or do you feel it was too soon?

Christie: I’m happy I brought her in because she’s a wife and we need more wives – she lives the life, is a high achiever, and she understands the lifestyle. She’s a firecracker and doesn’t back down – she does get into it with a number of people, which I love about her because she stands on what she says.

BET.com: You quote-tweeted a fan who said to bring messy Jackie back, with you replying, “stay tuned….” What mess will we see of Jackie Christie as the season continues?

Christie: There’s a situation where I take the girls to Arizona on a trip and I regret it happened but it came out of emotion but you’ll see what I’m talking about. I think fans need me in the mix and they were telling me before they started the season they want the ladies to carry their way and I get to relax a bit, but as you can see, they need me back, Ty (laughs).

BET.com: What’s the number rule every basketball wife should know?

Christie: Pay attention to the code – there’s a code in the real basketball wives world where we respect each other as we’re family and nobody comes between that.

BET.com: Do you miss any of the other ladies from seasons past that you wish were back?

Christie: Ooooh, good question – you’re on fire. I wish Tami, Malaysia, Draya, and OG were back on the show. OG and I had belly laughs in Costa Rica and I know it was a messy time, but I have to be real. I would say the Govan sisters – everyone who was on the show should be able to come back. I would also say Hazel, Draymond Green’s wife.

BET.com: You have a podcast, taking acting classes, and other business ventures – can you share what’s next for you in that space?

Christie: I have a movie coming out called A Letter To Santa, two movies I’m producing, and a TV show that will dig deep into the world I truly live in. You can’t show everything when there are 10 other cast members at a time so this other show will give people a full picture of who I am. I have a talk show coming out with Brittany Renner as my first guest and it’s dropping soon. I’m in the process of packaging it up because it’s getting ready to be placed on a major network. Brittany drops some exclusive things that I haven’t seen in her other interviews and she won’t share with the ladies on the show so I’m excited.

Watch "Basketball Wives: LA" on VH1, airing on Mondays at 9 pm ET.
