XSCAPE Member Latocha Scott Reconciles With Sister Tamika After Two-Year Estrangement

The vocalist released a freestyle to Chris Brown’s “Residuals” in dedication to Tamika.

XSCAPE members and sisters LaTocha and Tamika Scott are back in harmony after roughly two years of being estranged.

Last week, LaTocha dropped a freestyle version of Chris Brown’s “Residuals,” where, among claiming that she was kicked out of XSCAPE, and other issues in her personal life, that she sought to reconcile with her sister after departing the R&B group in late 2022. The following year, LaTocha signed to Motown Gospel, but while on the limited reality show “SWV & Xscape: The Queens of R&B,” she accused her husband, Rocky Bivens, and Tamika of stealing $30,000 in royalty checks from her decades before.

On Monday, March 3, LaTocha appeared on radio program “The Big Tigger Show” with an update on the state of her relationship with Tamika, claiming that her freestyle gave way for them to talk.

“Listen, like I said, when you’re singing and you’re coming from your heart, it reaches the heart. I was able to reach my sister through that song. So I’m grateful for just that interview alone because as soon as I heard it, I was like, ‘I got to call her,’” LaTocha told Big Tigger.

She added, “We had our first talk in two years. So that’s what music does. It was a good talk. It was a really good talk.”

Just one week before, Tamika spoke on “The Rickey Smiley Show,” where called LaTocha her favorite singer and urged her to “pull up” for a conversation if she really meant what she sang on the freestyle.

But not all were fans of the song, with fellow XSCAPE member Kandi Burruss denying that LaTocha was kicked out of the group despite her claims.
