Stevie Wonder Attended Marathon Burger’s Grand Opening in Long Beach
Long Beach officially got its first taste of Marathon Burger this past weekend (Mar. 1), and the city came through in full force. The new location brought together fans, family, and some of hip-hop’s biggest names to celebrate Nipsey Hussle’s legacy and the community-driven vision behind Marathon Burger.
Stevie Wonder was one of the big stars spotted at the grand opening, grabbing food and chatting with Nipsey Hussle’s brother, Blacc Sam, who was all smiles as he welcomed guests. YG, Snoop Dogg, and other celebrities also stopped by to lend their support. Fans lined up, taking photos and sharing the excitement, showing just how much the Marathon brand resonates with the Long Beach community.
Marathon Burger’s Instagram captured a clip of Snoop after the ribbon cutting, sharing his gratitude, “We thank y’all for coming out, we love y’all. L.B.C in the house tonight.” Inside, Stevie sat at the counter, enjoying his meal, shaking hands with Blacc Sam, and fans got a chance to catch a glimpse of some of hip-hop’s biggest stars moving through the room.
A shooting broke out nearby during the afternoon, leaving one person dead and at least two others injured, but Marathon Burger confirmed the incident was not connected to the event. A spokesperson told CBS News, “The opening was a huge success with strong community support… the opening itself proceeded safely and without issue.”
Inside, the energy stayed strong, just like Nipsey Hussle’s spirit at Crenshaw and Slauson. The crowd came together to celebrate his vision and legacy, honoring his impact that lives on in the community he loved.
