Yet another sneaker-related killing. 
Police are hunting for a sneakerhead suspect who they believe shot and killed another man over a pair of retro Air Jordans. Donald Proudfoot, 28, allegedly shot and killed Sam Cosmore, 46, at a Brooklyn barbecue on Tuesday.

It is believed that the two got into a heated argument over the sneakers before Cosmore was killed, though it's unclear which one of the two was actually wearing the sneakers and what they were specifically arguing about. 

Police believe that Proudfoot fired multiple shots into the victim's chest and that Cosmore died shortly after, as police found his lifeless body in the street a block away from the barbecue. He was rushed to a nearby hospital but succumbed to his wounds. Police sources told the New York Post that the believed Cosmore had left the bbq to try to get help before he collapsed.

NYPD Chief of Detectives Robert Boyce told the New York Daily News, "We believe it’s over something about a pair of Air Jordan sneakers." Adding, "We don't know what happened with it."

This is not the first time police have pinned sneaker-related crimes to Proudfoot, saying that he was also arrested in November of this year for beating up his girlfriend and stealing retro black and red Jordans.

He also stole cash and three cellphones and allegedly choked his girlfriend before slamming her into a wall.

Incidents like these are what forced one man to take his prized Jordans and set them ablaze to protest the violence that they have created in the past.
