Seven Shot at Rap Album Release Party in Chicago

Violence erupts at nightclub where rapper Lil Mouse was performing.

A record release party erupted in violence as gunshots rang out in a Gresham neighborhood Club on Chicago's south side early Thursday morning.

According to the Chicago Tribune, at least one gunman opened fire around 1 a.m., following a fight that broke out as the party was winding down.

Six of the shooting victims went to hospitals on their own accord.

Chicago police said that hundreds were in the club as a chair was thrown. A security guard reported hearing shots, causing people to quickly flee for the exits.

Responding officers told the Tribune they heard people yelling, "They're shooting!" and "I'm shot," before observing several people with gun wounds.

The party was believed to be for Chicago rappers King Samson and Lil' Mouse, who you may remember from the YouTube video, which featured the then 13-year-old boy waiving a gun. The video has gotten almost 3 million views.
