Here's How Hip-Hop Is Reacting To The Tragic Death of Fredo Santana
In the wake of the untimely passing of Chicago rapper Fredo Santana, the hip-hop community is collectively mourning the death of the promising trap star.
As previously reported, Fredo — born Derrick Coleman — suffered from a long time bout with seizures and complications of the kidneys. Back in October 2017, the 27-year-old opened up about his health struggles to his fans after he was hospitalized for liver failure.
Throughout his short-lived career, Fredo instrumented the drill music movement alongside cousin and collaborator Chief Keef. He made a name for himself in the music industry, founding his own record label, Savage Squad, where he released his debut album, Trappin' Ain't Dead. Known for his grizzly lyrics and larger-than-life persona, Fredo was beloved by many including the likes of Drake, 50 Cent, Wale and Travis Scott.
