Here's How Hip-Hop Is Reacting To The Tragic Death of Fredo Santana

The rap community mourns the loss of one of Chicago's brightest stars.

In the wake of the untimely passing of Chicago rapper Fredo Santana, the hip-hop community is collectively mourning the death of the promising trap star.  

As previously reported, Fredo — born Derrick Coleman — suffered from a long time bout with seizures and complications of the kidneys. Back in October 2017, the 27-year-old opened up about his health struggles to his fans after he was hospitalized for liver failure.

Throughout his short-lived career, Fredo instrumented the drill music movement alongside cousin and collaborator Chief Keef. He made a name for himself in the music industry, founding his own record label, Savage Squad, where he released his debut album, Trappin' Ain't Dead. Known for his grizzly lyrics and larger-than-life persona, Fredo was beloved by many including the likes of Drake50 CentWale and Travis Scott.
