Update: White House Petition Started to Make Kanye West Drop SWISH This Month

Chicago MC "has kept us thirsty for too long," reads online protest.

UPDATE: The fight to get Kanye West to deliver SWISH already failed before it got a chance to reach its goal. Per Billboard, the White House shut the petition down this afternoon, despite garnering tens of thousands of signatures.

PREVIOUS: Patience may be a virtue, but at least some of Kanye West's fans are tired of waiting on SWISH. According to Complex, a White House petition has been started to force Yeezy to release his new album this month.

CLICK FOR LONG TIME COMING: DELAYED ALBUMS

That’s right, someone actually took the time to petition the Obama Administration about an album. “Kanye West has kept us thirsty for too long,” reads the petition. “We haven't gotten any new singles in months. The president should order Ye to drop the album on the date August, 21 as his producer Mike Dean has been teasing people about.”

In order for the White House to even take the request seriously, at least 100,000 signatures are needed. So far, less than 200 people have signed up, and just in case the August deadline isn’t met, the petition is available until September 10.

Earlier this week Dean proclaimed that Ye will release SWISH whenever he feels like it, and even if the MC reportedly played the album in Toronto last week, Yeezy is such a perfectionist that  there’s a good chance that he’s not done working on it yet.

So it's back to the waiting game unless, by some miracle, more than 90,000 people sign the White House petition.
