'House of Payne': The Payne Love Language is Support

In this week's episode, the ‘Five Love Languages’ creates chaos in the Payne home.

Last week’s shenanigans were about the Chauncy and the shady photographer. But this week, it’s a tug-of-war between multiple couples. We start with Malik and Lisa taking a love language quiz. You know this is about to get ridiculous because they get to a point where they start arguing about it. More specifically, Lisa gets upset with Malik for “not really knowing her love language.”

Meanwhile, Ella gets a new light fixture that she doesn’t know how to install, so instead of paying someone to do it or asking Curtis, she watches an online tutorial. Curtis says he can do it for her if she waits for him to do it when he can. However, she obviously isn’t patient and feels like Curtis only offers because he thinks she can’t do it. Not sure how we got there, but yup. Anyway, Ella feels she must do it herself to show Curtis she got this!

'House of Payne' Recap: CJ Delivers A Lesson on Love and Pride

CJ and Janine get dragged into Malik and Lisa’s love language drama. Janine is on Lisa’s side and CJ is on Malik’s side because it's a battle of the sexes. But then, Janine starts bringing up things that CJ doesn’t do for her and she starts giving him the silent treatment. Malik and Lisa witness CJ and Janine being cold toward each other, making them realize they should get back on the same page.

In other news, Ella gets the light fixture up and gloats to Curtis and Calvin because it works. Curtis apologizes for doubting her. The episode winds down with Malik and Lisa inviting CJ and Janine to play a game with them. That leads to the younger couple helping the OGs make sense of their tension and resolve their issues.

The bottom line of today’s episode is that communication is key.
