Tracy Morgan Blasted for Emmys Speech by Accident Victim's Family

Not everyone is happy about the comedian's return.

Tracy Morgan's appearance at the Emmy Awards on Sunday night has been the talk of the town, but not everybody is cheering for the recovering comedian. Though many of his friends and colleagues are thrilled to see Morgan doing so well and returning to his old ways, the same can't be said for the family of James "Jimmy Mack" McNair, who was the only person to die in the horrific crash that put Morgan and others in the ICU.

"I understand it's been a great ordeal for Tracy over the last 15 months. I just feel in some form or fashion, he should have acknowledged my brother — his mentor — [in his Emmy's speech] because he lost his life," McNair's sister Pamela McNair told the New York Daily News in an exclusive interview on Monday.
Pamela's son Jamel McNair wasn't so polite in his criticism of Morgan. "You take the Emmy stage and give a speech and tell jokes in front of thousands of people. But you don't show up to celebrate the life of your best friend 'Uncle Jimmy Mack' at his (June 12) Honor, send a smoke signal, give a call, text, send a damn pigeon," Jamel wrote in an angry Facebook post on Monday. "There's no excuse for this type of behavior. My sister and I have yet to hear from Tracy Morgan and that's real!"
In a statement given by his publicist following the settlement of his lawsuit against Wal-Mart, whose truck caused the fatal crash, Morgan implied that in the legal proceedings, he made sure McNair's family was "taken care of."

With the ordeal behind him, Morgan made it clear to Hollywood that he's ready to work again, so it comes as no surprise that Morgan's already lined up his first film role. reports that the former 30 Rock star is eyeing the Ice Cube comedy Fist Fight for his big screen return. The film is also slated to star Charlie Day (It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia), Dennis Haysbert and JoAnna Garcia Swisher. Fist Fight is about a mild-mannered English teacher (Day) who is put to the test when a colleague (Cube) who thinks he is trying to get him fired end up in an epic fist fight after school. Details on Morgan's potential role are being kept under wraps for now.
