The 2019 collaboration would’ve marked the first time the two rappers appeared on the same song in over 13 years since they linked up for Jim Jones’ “One Blood.” Due to their contentious history, many fans were a little skeptical that Rozay could pull off the feat. 

While Rozay did confirm that both verses had been cleared by Weezy and Push, proclaiming the beef between the two was “over,” he did issue a disclaimer. Rick Ross admitted that he had put the two rappers on the song without their knowledge, so, naturally, fan’s expectations leaned toward caution. 

When the album dropped, it didn’t take long for fans to notice that Push’s verse was missing in action from "Maybach Music IV." The released version of the song only features Wayne and John Legend. At first, rumors ran amok that Pusha T had asked for his verse to be pulled. 

But Pusha T’s fashion stylist, Michael Camargo, also known as Upscale Vandal, hopped on Twitter to dispel speculation that the DAYTONA rapper had his verse taken off the album. When asked why the verse was scrapped, Upscale Vandal pointed inquiring minds to Rick Ross’ production team. In another tweet, he cast some speculation that Wayne’s team might’ve had a hand in it. 

“That is something I don't have the answer to,” he wrote. “You’d have to ask the owners and producers of that album.”

Push’s rumored verse surfaced online shortly after Port of Miami II hit streaming services on Thursday night (August 9) that has hip-hop heads convinced he was taking sub at Drake. In the opening lines, Pusha T seems to reference Drake, whom he previously dissed in the "The Story of Adidon."

“What a hell of a year, true colors exposed / Crowns on these clowns, it’s like you colored they nose," Pusha raps in the minute-long snippet. “We talkin’ skill sets or popularity polls? / When you speak truth to power your popularity grows."

Early Friday evening (August 9), Rick Ross clarified that he removed Push’s verse because the timing of it didn’t fall right, although he expressed he would like to see a Drake, Wayne, Pusha and Kanye record in the near future.

"What's so dope about it, both verses were cleared by both parties," he explained on Hot 97. "It was more about the bigger picture. Is this going to move both of them getting together? I'll take the charge for that. I didn't feel like it was time for that."

Despite Rick Ross’ clarification, hip-hop heads are upset that Push was taken off the song, and some are even speculating the Maybach Music label head caved at Drake or Lil Wayne’s request to bump Pusha T’s verse.

Either way, Twitter is in shambles over a possible resurrection of Push’s beef with Drake.
